When I think of why exercise is important, I automatically think of health reasons such as diabetes, obesity, and overall being healthy. I looked into it a little further and found some interesting points on why exercise is important. According to Mayo Clinic there are 7 main benefits that they seem to think is important. One I found interesting, this was that it helps make you in a better mood. By exercising, you release chemicals in your brain that changes how you feel (2014). I found this interesting and also useful for the simple fact that by basically exercising everyday, you will be a happier person. This is good for everyone to know because wouldn't you want to exercise more if you knew it made you in a better mood daily? If we find other reasons to exercise besides the obvious reasons, then I feel like we will be more apt to engage in it. Exercise is much more important for several reasons other than just preventing you from getting diseases.

Hi, Melissa! I clicked on your blog because I am interested in seeing what you have to say about exercise. When I was reading your post I immediately thought of how important endorphins are. Endorphins are released when working out, as you have mentioned, and it makes people happy. If only people always made time in their day to exercise this world would (literally) be a much happier place. Thank you for posting!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on exercising make you a happier person. I haven't experience for myself, but I know people who as experience it. Every time I see them it seem like they glowing, not because they lost weight but because they are happy. When I think of exercising I always think of hard core like px-90, but I know you can do px-90 at your own pace.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that exercise can make you a happier person, maybe not for everyone, but that does work for me! I think if more people understand that starting you day with exercise can make for a better day then they would definitely try it! They would also see all the positive benefits to working out! This was a good post!
ReplyDeleteI love your last sentence when you said that exercise is more important to do than just for the obvious reasons because this is so true. I also find it very interesting how exercising helps better your mood, that is something that I would have never associated with exercising. The few times that I have exercised I always just feel tired and sweaty, but know that it can better your mood motivates me to give exercising another chance! Great Post!
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, I think that exercise is a very important topic to talk about. I definitely agree that exercise is more important to do than just for obvious reasons because it's definitely true and puts you in a better mood and makes you feel a lot better. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteExercise is the key to living a healthy lifestyle. Exercise will help you think better, look better and feel better. I find that I am in a better mood the next day after I exercise and I am also a lot more giving and easy to deal with. Overall you had a great post and enjoyed reading it.
ReplyDeleteYou hit some very interesting facts. Physical activity does put people in better moods. I just wish I had the time to workout throughout the week so I can be in better moods.
ReplyDeleteExercise definitely makes you feel better! Not just because endorphins released, but after doing it for awhile and seeing results is an automatic confidence boost! Having your body feel better than it previously had and avoiding certain diseases like you mentioned is just another benefit.
ReplyDeleteMelissa,
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite topics! Playing sports when I was in pre-K until my last season of rugby at Eastern.... exercise has been a huge part of my life! There are no excuses. I was overweight in the 8th grade and played four sports and continued to do that in high school. It is 30 minutes a day. We spend more time on our hand held devises and inside wasting time rather then using it as valued time and benefiting our health! It makes your body, mind, and soul incredibly happy which makes your interactions with others better and also makes work and school better for you too! Who doesn't like good grades and less stress? Thank you for your blog post. I look forward to your next two. (:
